Renaissance Ratchaprasong Hotel Bangkok is one of the latest 5 star hotels to open in Bangkok, and it is by Marriott.

Ratchaprasong? Does that ring a bell? This is the intersection that has been blocked for weeks during the Red Shirt protests last year.
Strategic location, huh? Well it is not that bad. Ploenchit BTS station is right there, and you have direct access to Bangkok most popular shopping malls. Plus, you are only 2 BTS stations away from Nana and 3 from Asok (soi Cowboy).

Renaissance is a 5 star hotel, and you will pay the price: 5,500 baht ++ for a standard double room without breakfast. Add another 642 baht for 24h WIFI in your room. And for this price, you will only enjoy an indoor swimming pool. There is no outdoor pool. Considering the traffic and the pollution in the area, it is maybe not such a bad news.

Renaissance Hotel is guest friendly, but I strongly suggest that you book and check in for 2. And as I said for Emporium Suites, I am not sure this hotel is a wise choice if you plan to bring a new ‘guest‘ every other night. But if you are on expenses and willing to try the best, Renaissance hotel is probably one of them.

Check the rates on Agoda. They probably cut the prices for the low season.
