The Short Time Hotel commission
by Suk Psycho ~ March 16th, 2011. Filed under: Hotels.I knew there was something going on when I saw the staff at a Patpong short time hotel (the one opposite King’s Corner Pool Bar) asking for the name and the shop of the bargirls, but I never caught them red-handed.
This time I did.
Not in Patpong but in Nana Plaza. At the newly re-opened Hollywood Inn Short Time hotel, the receptionist gave something to a girl leaving the hotel. First I was not sure what it was as it was completely folded, but I asked her. She said it was a 20 baht bill. Maybe. Maybe a 50 baht one.
The girls receive a commission from the hotel when they bring a customer there. Is 20 baht enough?
Anyway when you see how much these girls can scream for the 10 baht ping pong balls, you can imagine that a 20 baht commission will motivate them.
I have no problem with a commission for the girls, this is business, but the thing is that Hollywood Inn has raised the ST price from 300 to 350 baht.
In this case, the customer is the one paying the commission to the girl! And for what? To go in an hotel that is more expensive than the other ones, with nice but very small rooms!
