Moulin Rouge Go Go bar, Sukhumvit soi 33, Bangkok
by Suk Psycho ~ March 6th, 2011. Filed under: Go-Go Bars.They have built a local “Moulin Rouge“. But it is not a Japanese Karaoke. It is a Go Go bar. And that is always a good news when a Go Go bar opens on Sukhumvit soi 33, instead of all these boring beer bars.
Phuket has its Moulin Rouge G-Club, Pattaya has its Moulin Rouge Go Go bar on Walking Street (specialized in East European girls actually), and now Bangkok has its own Moulin Rouge (sorry for the bad quality picture).
Moulin Rouge is a small Go Go bar built on two floors in a 2 stories shop house. The ground floor is a central bar with bar stools around and a transparent ceiling (Baccara style). The second floor is the actual Go Go bar with a small stage (the transparent floor) surrounded with bar stools and sofas, and a small bar on the side.
It is not big. It is the kind of “corridor” Go Go bars like Safari in Patpong, DC 10 in Nana Plaza or Cactus Club on Soi Cowboy, except it is on 2 floors. They had two girls dancing on the small stage when I visited and they could not put much more anyway. Two others were waiting for their shift and taking care of the few customers around. They also have 3-4 hostesses waiting outside and escorting you inside and for a drink if you want.
Note that the 2 girls on stage were dancing with all their clothes on. No bikini, no nudity.
I see it as a good sign that Go Go bars open on Sukhumvit soi 33 because this could be the replacement of Nana Plaza in the future. However they need to do something with the BF.
Moulin Rouge charges an outrageous 1,000 baht for the BF. Although I understand that the lack of girls, especially at the beginning, may justify this policy on the short run, on the long run there is no chance they take over Nana Plaza, Patpong or soi Cowboy with such prices. Go Go bars are for girls to Go!
Lady Drinks are more reasonably priced at 200 baht.
Moulin Rouge is located on Sukhumvit soi 33, next to Livingstone’s, a few Japanese Karaoke and La-Kris Tower Serviced Apartments, on the left hand side when coming from Sukhumvit main road.
