Cowboy 2 Go-Go Bar, Soi Cowboy, Bangkok

I don’t remember having ever visited this Go Go bar before and the very unusual 3 rows of seats at the same level, on both sides of the stage, boxing-ring like, did not ring a bell.
Probably my first time there, but I will remember this first visit: First time in my life that they play John Denver’s Take Me Home (I had to Google the lyrics to find the name) in a Go Go bar. The poor Go Go girls were trying to dance the best they could on this slow Country song. Ah, ah!
And then, to make things worse, they had to improvise on Lou Bega’s Mambo Number 5.
I am afraid the DJ at Cowboy 2 is more playing for himself than for the girls or the customers, but it’s a nice change from the usual hip hop/techno music.
The 120 baht draft Heineken is also a nice gesture.
Cowboy 2 is a nice Go Go bar with dim lighting and modern furniture. It deserves a bigger success than its current one. But the problem is always the same: girls, girls, girls. What makes the very basic Shark, Doll House or Rainbow 1 very successful despite of their less than average interior decoration? Girls!
At Cowboy 2 they have girls wearing only panties, and other in their birthday suit, but sometimes, well, it’s embarrassing… You would wish they put their clothes back on!
Didn’t see anyone that I would BF. And based on the very small number of punters in the bar, I am not the only one to think that way. That being said, my next stop at Doll House was disappointing as well. The bar was almost empty, and it was obvious that the days when Doll House had some of the prettiest girls of the soi are now long gone. Did they fire their human resource manager or what?
