All the go-go bars of the Castle Group (King’s Castle, Queen’s Castle, King’s Corner, etc.) in Patpong have been or are being (or will be) renovated. Well, renovated is maybe a very big word for what really happens. Let’s say that the inside has been slightly enhanced and improved and the outside has been redesigned and decorated.

This is now true for King’s Castle 1 and 2 and King’s Camelot, that have a fresh look, a slightly better seating and a better lighting. King’s Corner is closed and under renovation, while girls and lady boys from this bar have moved to King’s Castle 2. King’s Castle 3, Queen’s Castle 1 and Queen’s Castle 2 are still the same old crap yet!

The bad news is that if bars have been arranged, mentality has not improved. You still have to tip every one, from the toilet dude to the mamasan, the waiters and the bargirls, for every move you make, and you are still pressured to order a new drink as soon as your current drink is less than half a glass! And their policy of having you signing the bill for each and every drink you order is just another sign that people there are not trustworthy.

Beware of the mamasans. While I usually think they are useless, in those bars I would even go a step further: They will be hassle or trouble. Try to avoid them as much as you can. For instance they will always try to interfere between you and a girl and of course never in your favor.

BF price is 500 baht in all bars, which is 100 baht cheaper than most of the bars on soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza. However the ST hotels nearby are 100 or 200 baht more expensive than what you can find on soi Cowboy or in Nana Plaza, which kind of compensates.

It’s difficult to find your way around in term of what kind of gender to expect in those bars, but let’s give it a try. Experienced readers are welcome to confirm or “conflict”:

- King’s Castle 1: 100% Girls,
- King’s Castle 2: 40% Girls and 60% post-op Lady Boys,
- King’s Castle 3: 100% Lady Boys. Majority of post-op but not all,
- King’s Corner: 30% Girls and 70% post-op Lady Boys,
- King’s Camelot: 100% Girls,
- Queen’s Castle 1: never been there, too high!
- Queen’s Castle 2: same as above!
