Guest Friendly hotel: Hotel Manhattan Bangkok, Sukhumvit soi 15
by Suk Psycho ~ May 3rd, 2010. Filed under: Hotels. This old fashioned looking hotel is actually tucked away on a small square on the left hand side on Sukhumvit soi 15, not far from the entrance of the soi. Although not modern at all, Hotel Manhattan Bangkok looks cozy and comfortable.
The Superior Single room, which is actually the Standard room, is priced 1,800 baht per night including breakfast, while the Superior Double room is priced 2,000 baht. To use Internet in your room (wireless), you’ll have to pay 100 baht for 30 minutes and 200 baht for 90 minutes.
Hotel Manhattan Bangkok is Guest Friendly, but only if you book a double room. If you went for the single room, you’ll be charged an additional 500 baht for each guest you bring in. Considering the 200 baht difference between single and double, unless you are absolutely sure that you won’t bring anyone in your room, you’d better go for the double room.
Facilities of the hotel include a swimming pool, a restaurant, a spa, a massage shop and… a Karaoke! (Ara Karaoke – 7pm – 1am).
The location of Hotel Manhattan on Sukhumvit soi 15 is great. You are at walking distance of Thermae, Mc Donalds, Asok BTS, Nana BTS, Asok MRT, Soi 11 and Soi Cowboy, to name a few.
If you want to try a discreet but well located hotel on Sukhumvit, this is a place to consider.

Thought I would mention that back when I was still young enough to stay out until daybreak, especially back when Thermae stayed open until 6 or 7am, or if I was leaving a nearby hotel like Asoke Place following an impromptu LT session, I used to stop in at the Manhattan for breakfast. I recall their hot cakes were especially good, albeit extremely odd looking. Would always order them though, and they were good.
It’s been years since I’ve done that. Someone ought to check this out.
