A good place for a Ping Pong show
by Suk Psycho ~ February 16th, 2009. Filed under: Go-Go Bars, Special. When it comes to Ping Pong shows, one has to be careful: Most of the bars in Patpong, on the second level of the go-go bars, are rip off places that will charge you hundreds of baht for a couple beers.
There is one however that I can recommend as being an ok place: Side Line bar. This bar is located upstairs from the Pink Panther go-go bar on Patpong soi 2.
Before entering the bar, talk to the 2-3 Thai guys outside and make sure with them that you will only get charged for one drink per person and that you will not accept additional charges.
Once this is done, step inside and follow the waitress. They don’t let you sit where ever you want because they want to make sure everyone can see the show and doesn’t complain that someone sits in front of them.
All drinks are charged 200 baht, be it a coke or a whisky.
The place is rather small but lots or couches along the walls ensure that everyone will be seated. The tables in the middle of the room are probably the best places, but you might end up being part of the show.
A few go-go girls are dancing between the shows and available for a drink with you when not dancing. Some of them are not bad for such a place. And then you have the shows: opening a bottle with a vagina, throwing darts or smoking cigarettes with the same “bottle-opener”, putting a very long long string of fairy light where usually a shorter kind of string goes in, and of course, playing ping-pong!
The shows are ok but in my opinion it is more fun to see those at Suzy Wong on soi Cowboy or Carousel and Angelwitch in NanaPlaza.
Most of the girls at Side Line are not pretty at all (no side liners
), but a few are, especially among the go-go girls (that is: not the ones doing the shows). It seems that the 500 BF / 2000 ST applies there also and that you can decide at any time to take a girl home to try with her the new tricks you just learned, in a more private environment.

Cheers for the info, was looking for somewhere that wasnt a rip off joint in patpong for next time I visit to gain some knowledge of the area.
My experience of Patpong 1:-
Queens castle 1 was ok too for the shows but you do have the horseshoe of girls wanting drinks round you when you sit down.
However once I made my choice of partner, no hassle and no rip offs.
That was about a year ago, maybe things have changed with the downturn?

I did review a few bars in Patpong previously. But not Queens castle 1 yet. In my opinion bars in Patpong are going slowly these days.
